How documents are counted, billed and downloaded.
What counts as one document?
One uploaded file, regardless of its number of pages. A batch of ten files counts as ten documents. Conversion, OCR and extraction within one pipeline count together as one document.
How much does one document cost?
Each document uses 1 document unit, and every document is processed the same way. On Growth that is €0.01 per document, or €10 per 1,000, on your monthly invoice. Usage is reserved while a job runs, counted once on success and released if the job fails or is cancelled.
Are longer files or retries charged more?
No. Page count does not change the document price, although larger documents take longer and technical upload limits still apply. Automatic retries within the same job are not additional documents. A new submission is a new job and counts as another document when it succeeds.
What happens when Starter runs out?
Starter includes 5,000 document units per month, and each document uses 1 unit. Once your allowance is used, wait for the next billing period or switch to Growth. There are no automatic paid overages.
Which formats can I download, and do downloads cost extra?
The Playground shows readable results and offers Excel (.xlsx), CSV, JSON and Markdown downloads for single documents and batches. The API returns JSON only. Viewing, copying and downloading results never run extraction again or add a charge, and you can download completed documents while the rest of a batch is still processing. Batch downloads include completed documents only, without failed or cancelled jobs.
